Rise

Where do I search the horizon for the dawn now that you’ve gone

For I have not seen either for sometime now

Only one I will ever see again

Will I know it by sight?

Can I rely on those memories of when it was my light and warmth

Or believed somehow that the truth behind its rising  was ever mine alone

Even briefly…

Was it ever really there?

Or did it fool me by loft alone and set it’s shine and surety

Within another’s eyes

Denying mine for how long

Never will I know now that it has completed its flight over me and has

Sunk into the depths of twilight and tomorrow

Only to reveal it’s true path and nature upon her rise

Somewhere over that mountain……
